Prehung Doors: At Pine Door Company our main emphasis is building Handcrafted, Solid Wood Doors. When practical we recommend that customers purchase their doors from one of our distributors with the capability to prehang. That enables us to focus on producing doors of the finest quality and craftsmanship. However, when there is no distributor available a customer can purchase prehung doors directly from us. (Please visit our Hinge Direction instructions to choose the correct "handing" of doors prior to ordering.) Prehanging includes jamb legs of the same species as the door, residential-grade hinges, face bore, backset bore and deadbolt bore when requested. Jambs are dadoed, cut to length to fit each individual door and mortised for hinges and strike plate. For interior applications jambs are flat with stop applied. The door is mortised for hinges and hinges applied. Our standard hinges are residential grade Satin Brass Hager hinges.

There are many options for custom hinge color and style. Click to see our list of business partners to view the websites of some of our favorite hardware dealers, or provide your own! We are happy to coordinate with your hardware supplier to match hinge color with lockset or to discuss a pocket mortise or custom bore for specialty hardware.

Pine Door Company's standard face bore is 2-1/8”. Edge bore is 1”. Backset is 2-3/8”unless specified otherwise. Exterior jambs are single rabbetted, kerfed and weather-strip is applied. A bronze adjustable threshold and door bottom is included and commercial grade hinges applied. If a door is to be crated and shipped the jambs will be knocked down, bundled and numbered to correspond to the door they fit.

Crating and Shipping: If doors are ordered prehung we will knock down the jambs for shipping. Jambs are bundled and numbered to correspond to the door they fit. Doors are shipped in an extra-sturdy crate for safe delivery. They are attached to a wood pallet with skids so a forklift or handcart can get underneath. The doors are secured to the pallet with shrink-wrap to prevent shifting. Next a sturdy frame is built around the doors and covered with waferwood. Finally, the crate is banded and shipped common carrier. Feel free to call for a rate quote.
